There are two relatively dry periods in the coastal zone of the Province of Limon, the first one goes from February to March and the second from September to October. The rainiest months, both in the coastal region and in the mountains, are July and December, while the minimum ranges of precipitations in the northern zone are in March and April.

The average time of effective sunshine fluctuates between 4 and 6 hours a day from January up to May, while July is the cloudiest month; therefore, the daily hours of sunshine are fewer during this period.

In general terms the average temperature throughout the year oscillates between 25º and 27º Celsius in the coastal zone, being the maximum of 31º Celsius and the minimum of 20º Celsius.

A good time to visit the Province of Limon is when the legendary green turtles arrive to lay their eggs between July and October. If scuba diving is your main interest, you must arrive in the zone between March and May, or in September and October, because the atmospheric conditions are not suitable fro the practice of this sport during the rest of the year.

Lastly, the best moments to enjoy the beaches of Limon are between September and April, since there is nice sunshine and the Caribbean Sea is at its best.
