LIMON
HOW TO GET THERE
Just 161 kilometres separate San José, the capital of Costa Rica, from the Atlantic Province of Limon. The Principal 32 Highway is the road connecting both cities, a distance that is covered in two and a half hours, approximately, on the buses that offer a direct transportation service.
The vehicles set off from the Great Terminal of the Caribbean, in San José; a modern station located on Central Street, between 15th and 17th Streets. The firm covering the distance in a direct fashion is Mepe Transports, and they depart at 6:00, 10:00, 13:30, 15:30 and 16:00 hours daily.
On the other hand, the Tortuguero National Park is accessed by air and by sea; the flights take off from San José, at 225 kilometres, and last an average of 30 minutes; while the motorboats bound for the protected area set to sea from Moin Siquirres and Caño Blanco. These three places can be reached by land from the City of Limon.
