- Café Britt Farm: It is an adventure amongst cultivations and smoky cups to know the secrets of the Tico (Costa Rican) coffee, one of the best in the world. The Coffee Tour along the Britt Farm will allow you to learn about the cultivation techniques, plague control methods, selection process, and finally the toasting and packing of the grains.
The tour lasts two hours and in addition to the tasting of coffee, it includes a dramatised glance at coffee's history in Costa Rica.
The Farm is located in the Canton of Barva and it operates since 1991. It is open from 8:00 hours to 17:00 hours.
San Joaquin de Flores: It is a peaceful haven far from the excessive coming and going of the cities. A place where solace seeks refuge on the cultivation fields, on which coffee grows vigorously, or at the blessed nave of a church built in 1880, which contains paintings and sculptures of great value.
A visit to San Joaquin de Flores would not be complete without going to the butterfly farm, with one of the largest collections of native lepidopterists nearby the coffee fields. And if you have not satiated your appetite for adventure yet, go to the north where you may climb the Barva Volcano.
This small Town, known as the High Plateau of Our Lady of Solitude in the colonial period, is located in the Canton de Flores, 4 kilometres west to Heredia.
