ALAJUELA
WEATHER AND CLIMATE
Beyond the climatic variations, when you set foot on the City of Alajuela, the second in importance in Costa Rica, do it with the certainty that even though you are soaked by the rain or scorched by the heat, you will always be well treated, and will always be welcomed.
When planning your visit to Alajuela, bear in mind that like in the rest of Costa Rica, tourist high season (blue season) starts in December and ends in May.
In this time of the year the weather is splendid during the day, with a permanent sunshine and a clear sky that only darkens sporadically due to minor storms. When the affluence of tourist increases, the cost of the services tends to rise, so we recommend you to book your reservations in advance.
The low season (green season) begins in June and ends in November, coinciding with the rainy season, so heavy showers are rather frequent; though beyond the unpleasantness the persistent cry of the clouds may represent, during these months nature is more exuberant; and if it is about economy, tariffs for the services are lower in this season.
You choose the season, though either way you choose, Alajuela guarantees you truly unforgettable days.
